He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society. He holds a PhD in Computer Science with specialization in artificial intelligence and computer linguistics from Duke University, Durham N. C., as well as a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa.
