Mr. Cheick Tidjane Thiam has been the Group Chief Executive Officer of Prudential plc since October 1, 2009. Mr. Thiam served as the Chief Financial Officer of Prudential plc. from March 25, 2008 to September 30, 2009 and served as its Head of European Operations. He served as the Group Finance Director at Prudential plc since September 21, 2007. He is a Member of the Council of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London, a sponsor of Opportunity International, and a member of the Africa Progress Panel chaired by Kofi Annan. He is a Graduate from Ecole Polytechnique and of Ecole des Mines de Paris. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Insead.
