Dr. Don Foster, Fess, Ph.D. serves as a Corporate Vice President of Inflammation Research Center of Novo Nordisk, leading a Seattle-based research site for Novo Nordisk focused on discovery and development of biologics for the treatment of chronic autoimmune diseases including RA, IBD and SLE. Dr. Foster has been the Vice President of Governmental Affairs of Bolero Resources Corp. since March 26, 2008. Dr. Foster has more than 30 years of primarily industry experience. ... He has extensive experience with Montana permitting and regulatory issues. Prior to Novo Nordisk, Dr. Foster spent more than 22 years at ZymoGenetics where he was involved with research programs that delivered four products to the market. He served as a Consultant in Montana. The products included an engineered tPA analog now licensed and marketed by Eisai as Cleactor; human activated Protein C now licensed and marketed by Eli Lilly as Xigris; human Factor VIIa marketed by Novo Nordisk as NovoSeven; and human Thrombin now marketed by ZymoGenetics as RecoThrom. The research programs under his guidance have also resulted in four new protein biologics that are currently in clinical development. He served as Director of Geology and Environmental Affairs of Placer Dome's Golden Sunlight Mine in Montana, and Vice President of Exploration of American Bonanza Gold Mining Corp. His background includes exploration geology, mine permitting, environmental evaluations, project management and public/government affairs. Dr. Foster has been involved in the biologics industry for nearly 25 years. He serves as a Director of Xencor, Inc. Dr. Foster serves as a Director of the Montana Mining Association. He has published more than 120 papers in the field and is an inventor on more than 40 issued patents. Dr. Foster earned at Ph.D. at the University of Washington in the laboratory of Dr. Earl Davie.
