Background*

Mr. August Wilhelm Henningsen served as a General Manager of the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation, a joint venture between Deutsche Lufthansa and Air China from 1997 to 2000. From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Henningsen led the aircraft components services division for the newly-formed LHT, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Lufthansa, in Hamburg. He served as the Head of Deutsche Lufthansa's aircraft cabins and systems department since 1989 and in charge of ... the overhaul line of the Boeing 737 fleet in Berlin-Schoenefeld since 1991. Mr. Henningsen was with Deutsche Lufthansa AG from 1979 to 1993, including served as a Systems Engineer. In 1981 he was transferred to Frankfurt, where he was put in charge of flight controls, dedicated trouble shooting and contact engineering for the flight operation department. After that he was promoted to manager of aircraft structure and systems engineering. Starting in 1989, Mr. Henningsen became responsible for aircraft cabins and systems as senior head of that department. He has been the Chairman of Executive Board at Lufthansa Technik AG at Deutsche Lufthansa AG since January 1, 2001 and also serves as its Member of the Executive Board. He serves as Chairman of Hawker Pacific Aerospace and has been its Director since August 10, 2001. He serves as a Member of Executive Board at Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation. Mr. Henningsen served as a Member of LHT's Executive Board since April 2000. After graduating from high school, Mr. Henningsen studied mechanical engineering at Brunswick Technical University, specializing in aeronautics. Employed at the German Aerospace Research Institute, where he did scientific work, in 1979 he graduated from the university as a professional engineer. Mr. Henningsen enjoys playing the piano and is an enthusiastic sailplaner and windsurfer.
