For the first twelve years of his career, from 1987 to 1999, he held a number of roles at National Mutual in New Zealand and Australia, where he progressed through many of the major business functions, gaining a deep and broad knowledge of the businesses in these mature markets. He has been a Director of Aviva Plc since December 1, 2012. He served as a Director at PhilPlans Inc. He served as a Director of The Philippine American Life and General Insurance Company. He served as Director of AIA Group Limited until September 1, 2010. Mr. Wilson has a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato.
