Mr. Richard E. Thornburgh, Dick, served as Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse AG. Mr. Thornburgh has over 35 years of experience in the global banking and financial services sector and has held a number of senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse Group. He began his investment banking career with The First Boston Corporation, in 1976. Mr. Thornburgh spent 20 years in the investment banking department specializing in financial institutions. During that period ... he also ran the Los Angeles office in the late 1980s and was the first global head of the Financial Institutions group for CSFB. Mr. Thornburgh was an Advisor on many of the landmark merger and acquisitions transactions that took place during the consolidation of the U.S. regional banking industry in the 1980s and early 1990s. He spearheaded CSFB's mandate to advise the government on the privatization of the entire Mexican banking industry, the recapitalization of the California thrift industry (including California Federal Bank, Home Savings and Loan and Glendale Federal Bank) and served as Advisor on the recapitalization of banks to the governments of Sweden, New Zealand, South Australia, Mexico and Australia in the early 1990s. During the ten year period ending 2005, Mr. Thornburgh served on the Executive Board of Credit Suisse Group and his executive responsibilities included: Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of CSFB, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of CSFB. Mr. Thornburgh served as the Chief Risk Officer of Credit Suisse Group AG from January 1, 2003 to July 12, 2004. He served as a Member of Executive Board of Credit Suisse Group AG since September 1, 2002 and served as its Chief Financial Officer from 1997 to 1999. He served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board and Member of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse (Deutschland) Aktiengesellschaft. He joined Corsair in 2006. He served as a Member of the Executive Board for Banking Business of the CSFB since January 1, 2006. From 1976 to 1986, he served at The First Boston Corporation Investment Banking Department. From 1987 to 1988, Mr. Thornburgh served at The First Boston Corporation as Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking Department at Los Angeles. From 1989 to May 1995, he served at CS First Boston Corporation as Managing Director and other various capacities including Head of Global Financial Institutions Group. Mr. Thornburgh served as the Head of Integration at CSFB. He served as a Member of the Executive Board, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Administrative Officer of CS First Boston, Inc. from May 1995 to December 1996. Mr. Thornburgh served as a Director of the CSFB Executive Board since July 2004. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse First Boston from 2000 to 2002. From 1999 to 2002, he served as Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) and served as its Member of the Executive Board since September 1, 2002. Mr. Thornburgh served as a Member of Executive Board at National City Corporation from 1997 to 2001. He has been the Vice Chairman of Corsair Capital LLC since February, 2006. Mr. Thornburgh was Executive Vice Chairman at Credit Suisse First Boston (“CSFB”). Mr. Thornburgh served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Credit Suisse AG. He has been a Director of McGraw Hill Financial (formerly known as, McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.) since 2011. Mr. Thornburgh has been a Director of Credit Suisse (Australia) Limited and Credit Suisse AG since 2006. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group since 2006 and Reynolds American Inc. since December 2, 2011. He has been Independent Director of Credit Suisse (USA), Inc. since 2006. Mr. Thornburgh serves as an Independent Lead Director at NewStar Financial, Inc. and has been its Director since December 13, 2006. He serves as a Director of Capstar Bank. Mr. Thornburgh serves on the Board of Sparta Insurance Company. He served as a Trustee of University of Cincinnati Foundation. Mr. Thornburgh served as a Director of National City Corporation since May 9, 2008, Dollar General Corporation since July 25, 2006 and Credit Suisse International until December 31, 2005. He served as the Chairman and Director of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association since 2004. Mr. Thornburgh was a registered Principal with National Association of Securities Dealers. He received an M.B.A. in Finance from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1976 and a B.B.A., cum laude in Finance from University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1974. He studied at St. Xavier College Preparatory School, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1970.
