He was an Engineer Specialist in the Defense Systems Division of the Northrop Corporation. He has been a Trustee of Purdue University since July 7, 2009. He has been a Director of McDonald's Corp. since January 27, 2011. Mr. Thompson served as a Director of Exelon Corp. at Exelon Generation Company, LLC from May 8, 2007 to January 23, 2013. He served as Member of the San Diego Ronald McDonald House Charities Board of Directors. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He received Doctor of Science from Excelsior College in Albany, New York in July 2008.
