Prior to joining Toys "R" Us, he served as Executive Vice President and Global Merchandise Manager of Best Buy Co. Inc. from June 2, 2003 to June 2006, where he led the merchandising organization, overseeing buying decisions for consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software, appliances and services for 758 stores in nationwide. He served as Chief Merchandising Executive of Best Buy Co. Inc. Before joining Best Buy, he spent 17 years at Sony Electronics Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corporation, Tokyo and served in a number of key marketing, sales and management positions. He served as President of Sony Electronics Consumer Sales Company and was responsible for managing sales and distribution of Sony's consumer electronics products across the United States. Mr. Boire served as President of Sony Personal Mobile Products Company. In his career, he reached a milestones which includes the sales and branding success of the XPLOD(TM) car stereo line, the successful re-launch of the Walkman(TM) brand and the selection of Gen-Y as one of Sony's key target market segments. He is also actively involved with Multiple Sclerosis Society and serves as Vice Chairman of the Board. He serves as a Director at Brookstone Inc. of Osim International Ltd. He serves as a Director at BrookStone Company Inc. An active volunteer, Mr. Boire is involved with the United Way and supports his hometown of Beekmantown, N.Y. Mr. Boire was awarded the S. David Feir International Humanitarian Award by the Anti-Defamation League in 2002. He holds MBA degrees from Columbia University, Columbia Business School and London University, London Business School and studied in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America.
