He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and an honorary fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He received honorary Doctor of Science degree from Cranfield University for his contributions to the international aerospace industry in 2009. Mr. McNerney earned a BA Degree from Yale University in 1971 and an MBA from Harvard University in 1975.
