He served as Vice Chairman of Bayer Corporation from July 1, 2002 to 2004. He has been a Director of PNC Financial Services Group Inc. since 1992. He has been a Director at Owens-Illinois Inc., since January 25, 2005. He serves on the Board of the American Council on Germany and Pittsburgh Symphony Society. He served as a Director of Terex Corporation since 2002 until May 13th 2010. He served as a Director of Mercantile Bankshares Corp. He served as a Director of Bayer USA Inc. He served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Mellon University for many years and a Senior Member of The Conference Board. Mr. Wehmeier is an Alumnus of the International Management Development Institute, Lausanne, Switzerland and Institut European d'Administration des Affaires, Fontainebleau, France.
