In 1975, he joined Texas American Bancshares as the President of its flagship bank, Texas American Bank of Fort Worth. In 1982, he became the Chief Executive Officer of Texas American Bank of Fort Worth and four years later became the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman at Texas American Bancshares until 1989. Dr. Grant began his banking career at Citibank in New York City in 1961. He serves as a Director at Communities Foundation of Texas, Director and a Founding Member of the Investment Committee at BankCap Equity Fund LLC since 2005, He is a Member of the Advisory Board at Red McCombs School of Business. He also serves as a Director at Houston Industries, Metamor Worldwide, and Comiskey Kaufman. Dr. Grant has been a Director of Data Return Corporation since April 2000. He is a Member of Advisory Board at Satori Capital, LLC. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Communities Foundation of Texas since January 2008. Dr. Grant also served as a Director of American Eagle Group Inc. since February 1994. He was a Member of Advisory Board at Wingate Partners. Dr. Grant is a current Member of World President Organization and Chief Executive Organization. He has served for two years as an International President of Young President Organization. He serves as a Director of BankCap Partners. Dr. Grant serves on the Boards of Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, Southern Methodist University's Tate Lecture Series, MD Anderson, Dallas Citizens Council, KERA, and Dallas County Community College Foundation.
