He served as an Independent Director of UPM-Kymmene Corp., since 2000. Mr. Ahtisaari is an Elementary school teacher. He was awarded a number of honorary doctorate degrees from various universities. Mr. Ahtisaari did his Teacher Training Course and is a Graduate of University of Oulu.
