He served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations of Consolidated Natural Gas Company from June 1999 to January 2000 and Vice President of Commercial Operations from January 1999 to June 1999. Mr. Staton began his energy industry career as a Petroleum Engineer at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. After leaving the public sector, he held several rate, regulatory and strategic planning positions at Arkla Energy Resources. Mr. Staton served as Vice President of Pricing, Planning and Financial Services at CNG Transmission Corporation, where he also served as its Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Staton served as President of Asset Operations at CNG's Regulated Businesses since 1999. After CNG merged with Dominion Resources, Inc. in 2000, he served as Senior Vice President of Electric Delivery, where he was responsible for its electric distribution business serving 2.2 million customers in Virginia and North Carolina. From July 2003 to January 2006, he served as Senior Vice President of Delivery Operations of Dominion Resources, Inc., where he was responsible for providing service to Dominion's 4 million gas and electric customers in six states and also served as its Senior Vice President, Gas Delivery from January 2006 to 2008. Mr. Staton holds professional memberships with a number of associations such as the American Gas Association, Southern Gas Association, and the Gas Research Institute. Mr. Staton earned a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1983.
