Mr. Ian I. Chang, M.A.Sc P.Eng. has been the Vice President Project Development at Pretium Resources Inc., since April 14, 2011. Mr. Chang serves as Vice President of Project Development of Golden Bear Ceramics Company. He has over 25 years of experience in project and engineering management ranging from smaller high-grade underground gold mines to large-scale projects. Mr. Chang was responsible for all Emgold project development work including the Idaho-Maryland Mine, Golden Bear Ceramics Company and the Ceramext(TM) Process. Mr. Chang served as Vice President of Project Development of Emgold Mining Corp. from November 2003 to July 25, 2007. Mr. Chang has more than 18 years of Engineering and Project Management experience to Emgold. Mr. Chang held senior project and engineering management positions with Wright Engineers, Fluor Daniel and Agra Simons (now AMEC PLC) both in Canada and the United States. During his employment with these companies, Mr. Chang held lead project roles for the engineering and construction of world scale mines such as Placer Dome's Zaldivar copper and Musselwhite gold mines, as well as Battle Mountain Gold's Phoenix and Korri Kollo gold projects. He has significant experience with both hydrometallurgical (gold, copper, zinc, nickel) and pyrometallurgical (gold, copper, zinc) extraction processes. Recently, he served as Director, Sulfuric Acid Business Area for NORAM Engineering and Constructors, a leading chemical process technology company based in Vancouver. He is a registered professional engineer in the Province of British Columbia. He holds both a Bachelors Degree (B.A.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering in 1983 and Master's Heat Transfer Degree (M.A.Sc.) in 1986 of Applied Science from the University of British Columbia.
