Mr. Dennis A. Merens is the Managing Director of at Dow Venture Capital since June 1994. He also serves as an Advisor of Greener Capital. Mr. Merens is well recognized as a global leader in corporate venture capital. His role includes coordinating a multi-functional international effort to identify, assess and exploit potential investment opportunities that optimize both technology and financial objectives. Mr. Merens joined Dow Sales and Marketing in 1970. He transferred ... to Latin America in 1975 as a Chemicals Marketing Manager and returned to the U.S. in 1980 as a Sales Manager for Functional Products & Systems and then as a Group Marketing Director in 1983. In 1985, he was appointed as a General Sales Manager for Boston and in 1986 and as a Zone Vice President of Sales for Chemicals and Performance Products for the Eastern U.S. Mr. Merens also served as a Marketing Director, New Business Development at The Dow Chemical Company responsible for identifying, screening, and developing business cases for new corporate business platforms. He was the General Sales Manager for the New England states responsible for all sales and administration. Mr. Merens also held the positions as a Group Marketing Manager of Water Services at Dow U.S.A. and as a Marketing Manager at Dow Diagnostics. He is on the Board of Dendritech, Inc., Impact Analytical and WaterHealth International, Inc. and a Member of Advisory Board at Sail Venture Partners, LLC. Mr. Merens is also an Advisor for the NVCA Corporate Venture Group. He served as Director of Pfenex, Inc. He completed Venture Capital Investment programs at Harvard and the Venture Capital Institute and his post University academics include the University of Pennsylvania, Organizational Dynamics, and the Wharton Executive Program. Mr. Merens holds a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin.
