Dr. Peder K. Jensen, MD has been an Advisor of Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc., since 2011. Dr. Jensen serves as the President of BayWay Consultants, which he founded in 2010. He has more than 24 years of global drug development experience in both pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, across many different therapeutic areas (neurology, cardiovascular, anti-infective, oncology and immunology). Over the course of his career, he was responsible for more than 40 new ... drug approvals in the US, Europe and Japan. Dr. Jensen served as an Executive Vice President of Worldwide Clinical Development at Schering-plough Corporation and was responsible for clinical development worldwide, including clinical research operations, and clinical quality and compliance. He served as Corporate Senior Vice President, and General Manager, R&D for Japan and Asia/Pacific at Schering-Plough Corporation. Over his nearly 20 years with Schering-Plough Corporation, Dr. Jensen held a number of global senior research and development positions, including Executive Vice President of Clinical Development/Senior Vice President of Clinical Research. He served as a Member of the Operations Management Team of Schering-plough Corp. He joined Schering-Plough in 1991 as Senior Director, Clinical Research. He held positions of increasing responsibility at Schering-plough, including Vice President, Clinical Research (allergy/central nervous system) until 1998, when he left it to join British Biotech as Development Director and Chief Medical Officer. He served as the Head of Development and Vice President at Chiron Corp. In 1999, Dr. Jensen joined Chiron Corporation as Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Product Development. He rejoined Schering-Plough in 2002. He has also held senior research and development positions at Ciba-Geigy, in addition to a number of academic posts. He has been a Director at Acorda Therapeutics, Inc. since April 19, 2011; Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc. since September 15, 2011 and BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since May 3, 2011. He is a Member of the Danish Medical Society, Danish Epilepsy Society, Danish Neurology Society and American Epilepsy Society. He is a registered M.D. in the European Union, Sweden and Norway. He was awarded a research fellowship from the Danish Medical Research Council. He has been published extensively. Dr. Jensen holds his M.D. degree from the University of Copenhagen Medical School. He has completed his post graduate medical training in internal medicine and neurology at the University Clinic, Department of Hematology and Department of Neurology, Hvidovre Hospital in Copenhagen.
