He served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Pittston Mineral Group from 1990 to 1994 and Senior Vice President, Coal from 1995 to 1998. In 1995, he joined Cyprus Amax Coal Company. He served as Chairman and Director of Zeox Corporation from September 2009 to June 2010. He served as an Executive Director of UK Coal PLC from October 2004 to September 1, 2007 and previously served as its Non-Executive Director from October 2001 to October 2004. He was the 2008 Recipient of the Erskine Ramsay Metal Award of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration. Mr. Spindler has a BSC and Masters in Mining & Engineering and an MBA from Stanford University.
