Background

Mr. William Roedy, Bill served as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of MTV Networks International since June 2000. Mr. Roedy oversees MTV Networks' 71 international cable channels also takes on the additional oversight for Paramount Comedy Channel UK and Paramount Comedy Spain. His 25-year television career spans nearly every aspect of television operations. Mr. Roedy joined MTV Networks Company in 1989 as Chief Executive and Managing Director of MTV ... Europe. He oversees all of MTV Networks' growing international multimedia business operations for the brands MTV: Music Television, Nickelodeon, VH1, VIVA, TMF: The Music Factory, The Box, Game One and Paramount Comedy, collectively providing the largest global network of localized TV channels and websites targeting kid, youth and adult audiences. Prior to joining MTVNI, Mr. Roedy served as a Vice President for HBO for ten years, and was inducted as one of the “Pioneers” of the cable industry. Mr. Roedy serves as the Chairman of the Staying Alive Foundation. Mr. Roedy was a Founding Member and Chair of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS from 1999 to 2002 and serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board. In 1998, he was named Ambassador for UNAIDS and he has addressed the UN General Assembly on several occasions regarding the pandemic. He has been a Vice Chairman of MTV Networks Company since March 2005 and serves as its Director. He serves as a Member of Senior Advisory Board of TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. He has been a Member of Advisory Board of CRW CRE8 Limited since February 2007. He serves as a Member of Senior Advisory Board at TowerBrook Capital Partners L.P. He has been Member of the Advisory Board of CRE8 Limited, since February 2007. In 2005, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan appointed him Founding Chair of the Global Media AIDS Initiative Leadership Committee. Mr. Roedy is also active in a wide range of corporate social responsibility, Global Health issues and boards, including continued work with the United Nations, as well as amfAR, GAVI, GBC, Healthright, Fitzmi, Zumba, Ping4. He was a Career Officer in the United States Army or nearly seven years, receiving the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Mr. Roedy qualified as Airborne Ranger and was a decorated combat veteran in Vietnam. He also commanded nuclear missile bases as part of NATO. Among his awards Mr. Roedy has received the international Emmy Founder Award, two honorary doctorate degrees, amfAR’s Award of Courage, Doctors of the World Leadership Award and the UN Correspondents Association Global Citizen of the Year Award from UN Secretary General Ban–Ki-Moon. He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from Harvard University and an Undergraduate Degree from West Point.
