Mr. Eugene B. Jones, Gene served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Amedica Corporation from 2004 to January 5, 2007. Mr. Jones joined the Amedica Team in April 2004 and is a 30 year KPMG veteran, being elected to partnership with the Amedica in 1984. He began his career with KPMG LLP in 1973 and was elected to the partnership in 1984. From June 2000 to the date of his retirement in April 30, 2002, he served an Assurance Partner in KPMG's Silicon ... Valley technology practice. Prior to joining the Silicon Valley office, Mr. Jones served in KPMG's Frankfurt, Germany office where he managed the US GAAP Conversion Team from Europe. He has also served in the San Francisco, New York, and Salt Lake City offices where he worked with clients concentrated in the technology, banking, and general commercial industries. Mr. Jones has valuable broad based experience in taking technology companies public, having served for over 10 years as one of KPMG's select SEC Reviewing Partners. In this latter capacity he was responsible for the final approval of KPMG's involvement in client filings with the SEC under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Exchange Act of 1934. He also has substantial experience in advising on revenue recognition issues, including the application of the SEC's Staff Accounting Bulletin No. 101. He serves on the Board of Directors at Bank of Utah, and Larada Sciences, Inc. He served as a Director of World Heart Corp. from January 4, 2010 to August 2, 2012. He served as a Director of Schiff Nutrition International Inc. from April 2009 to 2012. He has also served on the boards of the trustees of Ballet West and the Greater Salt Lake Area Red Cross. Mr. Jones is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Jones holds a BA in accounting from the University of Utah.
