Background

Mr. Howard Mayson served as the Field Engineer of Schlumberger since 1977. Mr. Mayson joined BP in 1981. After a number of reservoir management, field development and commercial/business assignments in BP America, he was made Director of BP's E & P Technology Group in 1997. He served as the President and Business Unit Leader of BP Angola and Chief Executive and Business Unit Leader of BP Russia. Until 2010, he served as the Senior Vice President Technology for BP Exploration ... & Production, responsible for creating, defining and delivering BP's subsurface and wells functional agenda, directing the R&D programs and approving BP's hydrocarbon resources. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Fairfield Energy PLC. Mr. Mayson earned B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering in 1973 from the University of Sheffield and an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1976 from MIT. He was made an Honorary Doctor of Engineering at Heriot-Watt University.
