Background

Lon C. Levin has been Senior Advisor to Slacker, Inc. since April 3, 2007. Mr. Levin serves as an U.S. delegate to numerous International Telecommunication Union conferences. He serves as Treasurer and President of SkySevenVentures at Space Foundation. He served as Vice President of Corporate and International Planning at LightSquared Company (formerly SkyTerra Communications, Inc. and Mobile Satellite Ventures, LP) since February 16, 2005 and his key responsibilities ... included licensing, government relations, strategic development, and spectrum management as well as other senior management responsibilities. He served as Vice President of SkyTerra Communications, Inc. Mr. Levin founded XM Satellite Radio and served as its President from 1992 to 1998 and was responsible for its formation and development of XM Radio. His leadership set the stage for XM Radio’s successful launch as the first U.S. digital satellite radio service nationwide. In addition to co-founding XM Satellite Radio, he played an integral role in the formation and development of other media, satellite and wireless companies, including Mobile Satellite Ventures, XM Canada, Motient, Terrestar Networks. He also served as Vice President of American Mobile Satellite Corporation (now Motient), which he helped found. Prior to Motient, he was Partner with the communications law firm of Gurman, Kurtis, Blask & Freedman. He served as an Attorney at the Federal Communications Commission from 1980 to 1983, where he handled satellite, wireless, mass media, and international telecommunications matters. He is an entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in new media, satellite and wireless companies. He serves as a Board Member at Defense Business Board. He serves as Director of Space Foundation. Mr. Levin serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Cultural Development Corp. of D.C. He serves on the Board of Visitors at Syracuse University College of Law. He is a member of both the New York and Washington, D.C. bars, he was inducted into the NASA Space Foundation's Space Technology Hall of Fame in 2002. Mr. Levin graduated with a JD from the School of Law at Syracuse University, where he also earned a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Business and Telecommunications. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
