Background

Ms. RoseAnn B. Rosenthal has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Investment Arm since 1996. Ms. Rosenthal has significantly enhanced Ben Franklin's investment and technology commercialization activities, creating initiatives that have brought it national and international recognition. Ms. Rosenthal has 42 years of experience in business investment, planning, and economic development of the region. She has led and supported ... initiatives to stimulate venture capital and angel investment in early-stage companies throughout the region, including support for the formation of the Delaware Valley Venture Group. Ms. Rosenthal has also launched the Penn Venture Fund in the l980’s. She garnered 18 years of her economic development experience at Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, where she served as Senior Vice President for Strategic Development and launched and implemented several regional initiatives including the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia and the Regional Strategy for Industry Competitiveness (Strategy 21). Ms. Rosenthal is a key Member of the City of Philadelphia's Defense Adjustment Team and has authored the City's $50-million Defense Conversion Fund. She was also responsible for shaping, growing, and managing PIDC's direct-lending capability from an initial resource of $3 million to over $200 million of direct loans to commercial and industrial clients. She serves as a Director of Fox Chase Bank. She has been a Director of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania since 1996. She has been a Director at Fox Chase Bancorp, Inc. since April 23, 2008. She serves as a Member of Economic Advisory Council for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Economic Advisory Council for Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Inc. Ms. Rosenthal serves on numerous oversight and advisory Boards. She serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Emerald Stage2 Ventures and a Member of Technical Advisory Board at New Markets Venture Partners. She served as a Director at The Pennsylvania Biotechnology Association. She serves as Oversight Committee Member at The Nanotechnology Institute. She serves on several regional non-profit boards and commissions. She serves on the board of America-Israel Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Rosenthal is a Member of the Regional Advisory Board of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. She is the Chairman of the Audit Committee at the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia. Ms. Rosenthal received a B.A. from Temple University and in 2007, was awarded an Honorary Ph.D. in Humane Letters from Philadelphia University.
