Mr. William Clay Ford, Sr. has been Chairman of Ford Motor Company Of New Zealand Ltd. January 1999, has been Chief Executive Officer and President since October 2001. Mr. Ford served as the Vice President and General Manager of the Continental Division of Ford Motor Co. since 1954. and held variety of executive positions with Ford Motor Co. Throughout Mr. Ford's career he oversaw the design and development of a number of classic vehicles, including the Continental Mark ... II, considered by many to be one of the greatest cars ever built. He served as vice president - Product Design of Ford Motor Co. since 1973. He serves as the Chairman of The Detroit Lions, Inc. He served as Vice Chairman of Ford since 1980, retiring from that position in 1989. He has been a Director Emeritus of Ford Motor Co. since May 12, 2005. Mr. Ford served as a Director of Ford Motor Co. from June 4, 1948 to May 12, 2005. When the Design Committee of Ford Motor Co.'s Policy and Strategy Committee was formed in 1957, Mr. Ford became its first chairman, a post he held until he retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1989. In 1978, Mr. Ford was elected chairman of the Executive Committee and appointed a member of the Office of the Chief Executive. Mr. Ford served as the Chair of the Finance Committee of Ford's Board of Directors from November 1987 to January 1995. He graduated from Yale University in 1949.
