He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Mysql AB from 2001 to 2008, where he grew it from a start-up to the second largest open source ... company in the world and guided its successful commercial open source business through to its purchase by Sun Microsystems for $1 billion in 2008. Prior to joining MySQL in 2001, Mr. Mickos served as the Chief Executive Officer of MatchON Sports Ltd. from 1999 to 2000, which he grew to become the twenty-fourth "hottest e-business" in Europe within nine months of its inception. He served as an Executive of Oracle America, Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of Database Group at Sun Microsystems from 2008 to 2009. Previously, he served multi-national Chief Executive Officer and senior executive positions. Mr. Mickos served as the Chief Executive Officer of Intellitel Communications from 1997 to 1999, where he was instrumental in transitioning Intellitel Communications from a development lab to a commercial software vendor. He has also directed worldwide sales efforts at several technology companies. He served as Chairman of Vexillum Ab from 2000 to 2001. He serves as a Director of Mozilla Corporation, Electrosonic Group Oy Ab and Eucalyptus Systems, Inc. Mr. Mickos has been a Director of Nokia Corporation since May 3, 2012. He served as a Director of Mozilla Messaging Inc. from 2008 to 2011 and RightScale, Inc. from 2009 to 2010. He served as a Member of Advisory Board of Spikesource, Inc. He holds an M.Sc. in Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology.
