Mr. Kent I. Madsen serves as Managing Director at EPIC Ventures. Mr. Madsen has been employed at EPIC Ventures since 1998 and has been a venture capitalist investing in seed and early stage technology companies for more than a decade. He serves as Managing Director of Wasatch Fund III, L.P. and Wasatch Venture Fund IV, L.P. Mr. Madsen also serves as Managing Director at Zions SBIC and an Officer of Zion's Bank SBIC Venture Fund since 2001. Previously, he was a Managing ... Director of Wasatch Venture Fund. Mr. Madsen also served as the President of MACC Private Equities Inc. from 2004 to May 24, 2005 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. He also served as an Investment Advisor of MeVC Draper Fisher Jurvetston I, a publicly traded venture capital fund. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Madsen served for Ford Motor Company, initially in the Advanced Technology Group. During this time, he developed mathematical and computational models analyzing vehicle aerodynamic and thermodynamic properties and systems. Mr. Madsen then transferred to the China Operations, where he helped write, present, and negotiate joint venture proposals. Mr. Madsen then relocated to China to manage the Product Development of a newly established joint venture in China. He served as Secretary of MACC Private Equities Inc. since 2004. Mr. Madsen serves as a Director of WebBASIS. He served as a Director of MACC Private Equities Inc. since 2003. Mr. Madsen also serves as a Board Member of University Venture Fund. He served as Director of TheDial.com. He served as a Director of Everspin Technologies, Inc. and Q Holdings, Inc. Prior to Ford, as a graduate student, Mr. Madsen taught courses in Engineering Thermodynamics and co-authored the Solutions Manual for Fundamentals of Classic Thermodynamics, 5th edition, published by John Wiley & Sons. He received an M.S.E. from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in International Studies, earned as a Lauder Fellow, from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Madsen received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics with a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
