Dr. Nance K. Dicciani, Ph.D., serves as Vice President of Society at Chemical Industry (SCI). Dr. Dicciani is also an Operating Partner at Advent International Corporation. Dr. Dicciani served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Honeywell Specialty Materials LLC at Honeywell International Inc., from November 2001 to April 14, 2008 and was responsible for business ... strategy and worldwide operations of five business units (Consumer and Industrial Specialties, Organic Specialties, Inorganic Specialties, Ion Exchange Resins, and Primenes). She joined Honeywell in 2001. She served at Rohm and Haas Company as a Senior Vice President and Business Group Executive of Chemical Specialties and Director of European Region. Dr. Dicciani joined Rohm and Haas in 1991 and served as its Vice President and General Manager of the Petroleum Chemicals Division and also served as its Head of its worldwide Monomers business. Prior to Rohm and Haas, she also served at Air Products & Chemicals Inc. for 14 years, where she served positions of increasing responsibility in research, engineering, and research management. Dr. Dicciani served as General Manager for a stand-alone manufacturer of specialty cryogenic containers since 1986. She also served leadership roles in Chemicals group, Industrial Chemicals and Specialty Chemicals Divisions. She served various positions in research and engineering management in the industrial gases industry for 14 years. She began her career with the Philadelphia Water Department as an Engineer and served as superintendent of reservoirs. She has been Lead Independent Director of Rockwood Holdings, Inc. since October 2009. Dr. Dicciani has been a Director of Halliburton Company since July 16, 2009; Rockwood Holdings Inc. since June 1, 2008 and Praxair Inc. since September 1, 2008. She served as a Director at PP&L Resources Inc. She served on the Board of Advisors of CEFIC. She serves as an Advisor to the Engineering Schools of Villanova University, the University of Virginia and the University of Pennsylvania. She served on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology since 2006. She served as Warren K. Lewis Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 2003. She served on the Board of Trustees of Villanova University. She is a Special Olympics Coach. She has been honored by the Girl Scouts of America. She has been ranked one twice of “The World's 100 Most Powerful Women” by Forbes magazine for the two years. Dr. Dicciani was also named as one of the “Top 40 Most Important People in the Chemical Industry” in 2006 by Chemical Business. She has been awarded distinguished Alumni Awards from both Villanova and University of Virginia. Dr. Dicciani holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University.
