Background

Mr. Jorge A. Plasencia co-founded República, LLC in 2006 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. Mr. Plasencia served as Vice President and Operating Manager of RadioCadena Univision of Univision Communications Inc. since March 2006. Mr. Plasencia was responsible for the operations - administration, programming and talent relations - of Univision Radio's AM properties and the RadioCadena Univision Network. Mr. Plasencia also maintained portions of his ... responsibilities and assume the role of Vice President, Corporate Relations, Univision Radio, overseeing strategic corporate initiatives and projects, as well as functioning as liaison with other Univision divisions. Before joining Univision Radio's predecessor (Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation) as Vice President, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs in 2001, he spent five years as Vice President of Estefan Enterprises, Inc. He was Director of Hispanic Marketing for the Florida Marlins Baseball Club. In 1991, he co-founded Amigos For Kids, a non-profit organization that assists abused and underprivileged children in Miami. Mr. Plasencia also held various management positions within the Spanish-language radio industry in South Florida where he worked for WAQI(AM), WRTO(FM) and WQBA (AM/FM). He has been the Chairman of National Council of La Raza, Inc. since June 25, 2012 and its Director since 2006. He served as Vice Chairman of National Council of La Raza, Inc. until June 25, 2012. He also serves on the board of directors of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute at Barry University and the Gloria Estefan Foundation. Univision Communications Inc. also owns and operates Univision Radio, Univision Music Group and Univision Online. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at connXus Holdings, LLC. Since 2004, Mr. Plasencia serves as an advisory board member to the Broadcasting Board of Governors' Office of Cuba Broadcasting. Mr. Plasencia graduated with honors from Barry University.
