Mr. Jeffrey S. Raikes, Jeff has been the Chief Executive Officer of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation since September 2008. He leads the foundation's efforts to promote equity for all people around the world. He sets strategic priorities, monitors results, and facilitates relationships with key partners for all three of our program groups. He served as the President of Business Division at Microsoft Corporation from September 20, 2005 to 2008 and oversaw the Information ... Worker, Server & Tools Business and Microsoft Business Solutions groups. He previously served as group vice president of the Worldwide Sales and Support Group, where he was responsible for providing strategic leadership for Microsoft's sales, marketing, and service initiatives. He served as Group Vice President of Information Worker Business of Microsoft from June 2004 to September 2005. Mr. Raikes also served as Group Vice President of Sales & Support and Group Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Microsoft Corp. since July 1998 and July 1996, respectively. He served as Group Vice President of Productivity and Business Services of Microsoft Corporation since August 2000 and its Senior Vice President of Microsoft North America since 1993. He served as Group Vice President of Microsoft Corporation and was responsible for overseeing the evelopment, marketing and strategy of Microsoft Office System, including well-known products such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft on and its Director from 1987 to 1993. He also served on the Board of the Washington Technology Center. He is involved with numerous community activities, focusing on education and children's issues. As part of a community effort to preserve Major League Baseball in the Pacific Northwest, he joined with other Seattle business leaders in 1992 to purchase the Seattle Mariners baseball club. He was inducted in November 2003 into Computer Reseller News Magazine's Computer Industry Hall of Fame. He Chairman of the Board at Microsoft Alumni Foundation. Mr. Raikes serves as an Member of the Board of Advisors of Agile Sports Technologies, Inc. He serves as a Trustee of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He serves as a Member of Executive Committee at The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. He Co-Founded of Raikes Foundation. In June 2008, the Board of Regents at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln renamed the J.D. Edwards Honors Program in Computer Science and Management to the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management. Raikes, a longtime supporter of the highly selective and renowned school, was a part of the initial conceptualization and has served on the board since its inception in 2001. Mr. Raikes holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Economic Systems from Stanford University.
