Mr. Mark A. Peterson served as the President of Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Inc. (formerly Microbia, Inc.) Mr. Peterson also served as President of Fidelity Biosciences Group at Fidelity Investments. Prior to assuming this responsibility, he served as President of Fidelity Corporate Systems and Processing, where he oversaw the delivery of a group of internal corporate services company-wide. Mr. Peterson also served as President of Fidelity Technology and Processing Group ... and President of Fidelity Investments Retail Group (FIRG). He joined the company in Fidelity Investments Retail Group. He held executive positions advising Fidelity in legal matters and information-technology issues, and directing Fidelity Investments's venture investing in biotechnology interests. Mr. Peterson served as Senior Vice President of Administration of Beneficial Corporation and also Senior Vice President - Human Resources of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He started his career as a trial Attorney at the National Labor Relations Board in 1969. Mr. Peterson serves as Trustee of the Berklee College of Music. He served as a Director of Ironwood Pharmaceuticals Inc., EnVivo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and US Genomics, Inc. Mr. Peterson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Pennsylvania State University in 1963 and a J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1968.
