Dr. Richard V. McCloskey, Mac, MS, MD serves as a scientific adviser to Synageva and an adviser to Endo Pharmaceuticals. Dr. McCloskey served as the Vice President of Medical Technology at Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation. Dr. McCloskey served in the liaison to academia and supports the transfer and discovery of biotechnology to the medical community. Prior to this, he was the Vice President, Medical Research of Centocor and the Chief Medical Officer from 1997 ... to 2000 and also served as the Vice President for Clinical Research from 1992 to 1997. Dr. McCloskey’s industry experience also includes Assistant Vice President, Clinical Research at Hoffmann LaRoche. Earlier in his career, he served in faculty positions at Duke University Medical Center and at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Subsequently, Dr. McCloskey returned to his native Pennsylvania where he had been the Chairman, Department of Medicine at Daroff Division of Albert Einstein Medical Center and Chief of Infectious Diseases at Presbyterian Medical Center. His academic appointments include: Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine. Dr. McCloskey is certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and is an Emeritus Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society and the American College of Physicians. He has been a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Acuity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since June 2005. He serves as a Director of Koronis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He serves as a Member of Development Advisory Board at Biolex Therapeutics, Inc. He serves as Member of Scientific Advisory Board at PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He serves as on the board of Oyagen and Zyngenia. He serves as Member of Biotechnology Advisory Committee at Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator. He is certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and is an emeritus fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. McCloskey received his undergraduate training at Washington and Jefferson College and graduated from the University of Rochester Medical School with an M.D. degree with honors and an M.S. degree in Bacteriology. He post graduate training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Duke University and the National Institutes of Health, followed by academic appointments at Duke, The University of Texas at San Antonio, Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania.
