John Sadler serves as Chairman of Technology Task Force of Navigenics, Inc. Mr. Sadler has more than 15 years' experience delivering products at the intersection of health care, information technology and genomics. A multidisciplinary technology executive, he has specified, designed and led delivery of systems ranging from health-care Internet properties to research instrument systems with analysis, e-commerce and result management services. His accomplishments include ... designing and delivering GenVault's scalable, dry-state archive for genetic material, including the design of the consumable product, scalable HIPAA-compliant Web software systems and automation. Mr. Sadler led the architecture and design of Affymetrix GeneChip instrument systems at Agilent as well as Agilent's second-generation gene array system and associated informatics. At Applied Biosystems (AB) he led R&D strategy for iScience, AB's vision for integrating research workflow across instrument platforms, consumables and Web-based data discovery and analysis systems. At Entigen he led development of BioNavigator, a scalable Web-based bioinformatics server that made bioinformatics power accessible to life scientists without the need for programming. Mr. Sadler served as Chief Technology Officer of Lumisys Incorporated since December 1999. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Sadler served as Manager of Software and Systems at Agilent Technologies. Mr. Sadler held management positions at Octel Communications Corporation, maker of voice messaging systems, and Sophia Systems, a maker software and electronic design tools, and technical lead positions at Hewlett-Packard Company. Mr. Sadler is an inventor on more than 20 U.S. patents and applications related to genomics and medical devices. He earned his B.S. at MIT and his M.S. at Stanford University, both in mechanical engineering. .
