Ronald R. Breaker, Ph.D. serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology of Yale University. Dr. Breaker serves as Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Archemix Corp. He Co-Founded BioRelix, Inc. and serves as its Member of Scientific Advisory Board. In 1996, Dr. Breaker established his independent research program at Yale University and his research efforts are focused primarily on the engineering of new RNA and DNA ... enzymes. While at Yale, he has been awarded the Greer Prize for outstanding research and has been awarded fellowships from the Beckman Foundation, the Packard Foundation and the Hellman Family. Dr. Breaker has authored over 40 papers and holds multiple patents in the development of RNA and DNA enzymes. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. G.F. Joyce at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA, he developed a variety of in vitro selection methods to create novel polynucleotides with new or enhanced functions. Dr. Breaker received a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Ph.D. from Purdue University.
