Mr. Gerald Moriarty, AM, FTSE, FIEAust, FAICD, Gerry served as Group Managing Director of Telstra Infrastructure Services of Telstra Limited and held a number of senior executive positions. Mr. Moriarty served as Group Managing Director of Infrastructure Services of Telstra Corporation Limited. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Telstra Multimedia Pty Ltd. His portfolio covered the planning, design, construction and operations of Telstra's fixed, mobile, data ... and internet networks; research and development; information technology services and field service. Prior to joining Telstra, he was Managing Director of Broadcast Communications Limited and Corporate Director of Television New Zealand Group and prior to that Assistant Managing Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). He joined Macquarie Bank in August 2002 as Senior Adviser, Communications Infrastructure. In June 2001, he was appointed as a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia for services to the information technology and telecommunications sectors and as an advocate for the employment of leading edge technological capability to advance Australia's competitiveness in business and commerce. Mr. Moriarty has been the Chairman of Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group since December 2002. He serves as Chairman of Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Limited and Macquarie Communications Infrastructure management Limited. He has been the Chairman of Broadcast Australia Pty Limited since August 13, 2002. He has been the Chairman and Director of a number of companies within the Telstra group including Reach Limited ,TelstraClear Limited, NDC Ltd , Pacific Access Pty Ltd and Visionstream Pty Ltd. He serves as also Deputy Chairman of Arqiva and Chairman/President of the Bionic Ear Institute, an Australian scientific research Institute undertaking world leading developments in hearing improvement. Mr. Moriarty served as Deputy Chairman of Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group since August 2002. He serves as a Director of Foxtel Pty Ltd., IBM-Global Services (Australia), Advantra Pty Ltd., IBM Global Services (Australia), Atlas Travel Technologies Limited. He also serves as Director of Arqiva Ltd., Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group, Macquarie Communications Infrastructure management Limited and Macquarie Communications Infrastructure (Bermuda) Limited. Mr. Moriarty serves as an Executive Director of Macquarie Investment Banking Group. He serves as Executive Director of Macquarie Bank. He serves as a Director of the Bionic Ear Institute and a member of the Advisory Board of Teletech Australia. In 1998 he was recognised as Professional Engineer of the year by the Victorian branch of the Institution of Engineers Australia. Mr. Moriarty was Governor of the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering (University of Sydney) and a member of the Melbourne Symphony Council. In 2003, he was awarded the Centenary Medal for services to the Australian Society in Industry. He is a Fellow of The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers Australia. Mr. Moriarty holds a first class honors degree in Electrical Engineering from Canterbury University (New Zealand) in 1972.
