Dr. Andrew S. Wechsler, MD has been Medical Director of Endoscopic Technologies, Inc. since September 2009. Dr. Wechsler is the Stanley K. Brockman Professor and Chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and past Editor in Chief for the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Wechsler has served as Chairman ... of the NIH Surgery and Bioengineering Study section and holds or has held numerous leadership positions in Cardiothoracic Surgical Organizations. Additionally, he has held several NIH grants supporting a career long interest in myocardial ischemia and reperfusion injury, ventricular performance and valve surgery. He is the author or co-author on over 330 peer reviewed manuscripts, 59 book chapters, and 29 books and monographs. He has served on the editorial board of ten major journals and in 2008 was named the seventh recipient of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Scientific Achievement Award. He serves as a senior advisor to the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences at the National Institute of Health.
