Dr. Riccardo Dalla-Favera, M.D. co-founded Therasis, Inc. in 2007. Dr. Dalla-Favera served as the Co-Chair of the National Center Institute Program Review Group for Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma, as a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Institute of Environmental Health and of the National Cancer Institute. He is a distinguished investigator in the molecular genetics of cancer. Dr. Dalla-Favera is on the editorial board of a number of scientific journals and has authored over 250 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is an expert in the field of hematology malignancies. Dr. Dalla-Favera is an Associate Editor of the Journal for Clinical Investigation. He has been recognized with several national awards, including the Stohlman Award from The Leukemia Society of America and two NIH MERIT Awards and is an American Association of Physicians Fellow. Dr. Dalla-Favera is internationally recognized as a leader in molecular pathology of lymphoid malignancies and is the author of more than 200 publications. He was the first investigator to identify and clone several human protooncogenes and to demonstrate their involvement in cancer-associated chromosomal amplifications and translocations. He holds an M.D. from the University of Milan in 1976 and completed training in hematology/oncology at the University of Milan, Italy.
