Background

Mr. Marko Kranjec Ph.D. has been professor of public finance at the University of Ljubljana's Faculty of Administration since 2002. Mr. Kranjec has been an external collaborator with the Institute of Economic Research in Ljubljana since 2007. He has worked as a macro-economist at the OECD in Paris, and at the World Bank in Washington DC. Between 1990 and 1991 he was the Minister of Finance in the Slovenian Government, and from 1991 to 1997he was Vice-Governor and Member ... of the Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia. Until 2002 he was the Slovenian Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels. Mr. Kranjec served as Deputy President of Supervisory Board and Member of Supervisory Board of Krka Dd Novo Mesto since June 21, 2005 until 2007. He serves as Member of Governing Council and Member of General Council of European Central Bank. He gained a degree and doctorate fromthe Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana.
