Prior to becoming President of the ABC Television Network, she served as President of ABC Daytime from 1993 to 1998, where she was responsible for leading ABC's daytime programming schedule to the number one position among women 18-49 years old, and for introducing the daytime talk show "The View." Before joining ABC in 1993, Ms. Fili-Krushel served at Lifetime Television since 1988 as both Group Vice President of Hearst/ABC-Viacom Entertainment Services (HAVES), and Senior Vice President of Programming and Production of Lifetime Television. At Lifetime, Ms. Fili-Krushel was responsible for program acquisitions, development, production, scheduling and on-air promotion, with particular emphasis on the development and expansion of original programming, and the introduction of the network's world premiere movies. Ms. Fili-Krushel joined Lifetime from Home Box Office, Inc., where she served as Vice President of Business Affairs and Production, since December 1984. She has been Chairman of the Board of Comcast Corporation since July 2012. Ms. Fili-Krushel joined HBO in June 1979 as Director of Sports Administration. She served as Director of Sports and Specials at Program Budgeting, since September 1980; and its Director of Production since July 1981. Two years later, she served as Director of Production and Programming Administration. Before joining HBO, Ms. Fili-Krushel served at ABC in various positions, including Program Controller for ABC Sports, from 1975 to 1979. She has been a Director of Dollar General Corporation since October 15, 2012. Ms. Fili-Krushel serves as Director of Oxygen Media, Inc., Second Stage Theater, and as Trustee of Fordham University. She serves as a Trustee of The Central Park Conservancy, Inc. She served as a Director of Center for Communication, Inc. In 1998, Fortune featured Ms. Fili-Krushel among its "50 Most Powerful Women." She has also been profiled in Broadcasting & Cable, Electronic Media, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. She is the recipient of the Women's Project & Productions' 1999 Women of Achievement Award. Ms. Fili-Krushel was recognized by New York Women in Communications, Inc. through their prestigious Matrix Awards, which honor exceptional women who have distinguished themselves in the communications field. She was honored for her contribution to the field of broadcasting. Ms. Fili-Krushel was honored by the Police Athletic League as Woman of the Year for her achievements in creating innovative daytime television. and in 1996, she received the prestigious Vision Award for her contributions toward the creative arts, and The City of New York's Crystal Apple Award for her distinctive career achievements and contributions to the entertainment community in New York. Awarded the Women in Film Muse Award in 1993, Ms. Fili-Krushel is past President of New York Women in Film and was on the executive committee and the Board of Governors of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She served on the Board of Directors of Lifetime Television, the Advertising Council and the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy's Media Task Force. She has also been named to Mayor Bloomberg's Commission on Women's Issues. Ms. Fili-Krushel holds a B.S. degree from St. John's University and an M.B.A. degree from Fordham University.
