Background

Mr. Timothy M. Watkins is Managing Director, Operations at Valor Equity Partners L.P. He joined the firm in 2002 and leads the firm’s operational improvement function. Mr. Watkin’s responsibilities include investment analysis, investment structuring, and active management of portfolio companies including working with existing management teams of current portfolio companies. Mr. Watkins has over 30 years of operational change management experience and private equity investing experience. Mr. Watkins served as a Vice President at MG Capital, from 1998 to 2000. During his tenure at MG Capital, Mr. Watkins specialized in operational due diligence, improvements, and implementing post closing operational improvements. He also provided consulting support, implementation of metrics, implementation of lean manufacturing systems, implementation of QS and ISO approved quality systems, and served in various operational roles within the portfolio as required. Prior to joining MG Capital, Mr. Watkins served as a Principal Consultant at Westworks Ltd. He was responsible for projects in Asia, the United States, and Europe. Mr. Watkins specialized in providing consulting support to internal teams designing and implementing systems in the fields of quality, information technology, and lean manufacturing. Prior to consulting, he held manufacturing and engineering management positions at Robinson Nugent and Renishaw PLC. He is a Director at Fibrex, LLC, Smith Gas Field Services, Tewa Moulding LLC, and Premier Card Solutions, LLC. He has also been a Member of the Board of Directors of V/MSG Holdings, LLC, Plastag Holdings, LLC, and Tewa Wood Moulding, LLC. He served as Director of Tesla Motors, Inc. He is a winner of the Queen’s Award for Engineering, and is a Chartered Professional Engineer. Mr. Watkins is fluent in French and proficient in both German and Spanish. Mr. Watkins holds a M.S. degree in Industrial Robotics from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, Great Britain and a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1st Class Honors from Bradford University.
