Background

Mr. Peter Shannon serves as Managing Director at Firelake Capital Management, LLC. Mr. Shannon is focused on early stage investments in renewable energy, technologies improving use and delivery of natural resources, and other innovations on mature industries. Prior to this, he was a Principal at Atlas Venture, LLC since 2008 and Atlas Venture L.P, where he focused on solar, grid-scale energy storage, industrial energy efficiency, solid state data storage, and related ... software investments. Mr. Shannon joined Atlas Venture in 2005 as an Associate in the technology group. During business school, he served as a Summer Associate at Bain & Company, serving a life sciences instrument manufacturer supporting genomic and proteomic research. Prior to business school, Mr. Shannon served as a Vice President of Technology at Browz Group (Browz, LLC), which he invested in and advised throughout start-up. He led Browz Group's software development organization through a turnaround to bring its software infrastructure in line with the complex needs of Browz Group's rapidly growing client base. His leadership resulted in improved communication between the technology group and the rest of it and the development of a flexible data-driven compliance database. Mr. Shannon built several years of software design and leadership experience serving as a technology consultant to Orbitz, Bank of America's Global Derivative Products Group, and Sprint. He co-founded Eye Response Technologies, Inc. and Eye Response, Inc. Mr. Shannon serves as an Observer of Qbotix, inc. He serves as a Director of ArrayPower, Inc., Sungevity, Inc., and Global Fresh Foods, Inc. Mr. Shannon served as an Observer on the boards of Advanced Electron Beams, Simple Tuition, MiaSolè, Songbird, Active Endpoints, Pixtronix, and Lilliputian Systems. He received a U.S. Patent for his inventions and drove commercialization of the technology for applications in healthcare as an assistive aid for quadriplegics. Mr. Shannon holds an M.B.A., with high honors, from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business and a B.S., with distinction, in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
