He served as the President of BB&T Insurance Services. He has headed up BB&T's Raleigh, N.C.-based Insurance operations since ... 1990. He previously served as city executive and area manager in the BB&T Banking Network. The Boonville, N.C., native joined BB&T's Management Development Program in 1978. He is the immediate past chairman of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, where he serves on the nominating committee and the council's Foundation of Agency Management Excellence board of directors. He also serves on the board of trustees for the American Institute for CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters) and Insurance Institute of America, where he is on the executive committee. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina State University.
