Ms. Nana Booker is a current Director at Greater Houston Partnership. Booker is a longtime member of the Partnership's President Council and the World Trade Division Supervisory Board. She has served as director of communications for Lifemark Corporation, an international hospital management company, and held public relations management positions with a major New Orleans medical complex and the New Orleans Public Schools. She has also served as assistant professor of communications at the University of New Orleans and adjunct professor at the University of Houston. Booker was one of five executive assistants to Houston Mayor Kathy Whitmire, and was initially responsible for all public information activities, then for protocol and international relations. Booker is a member of the executive committees of the board of directors of the Asia Society/Texas and the Australian-American Chamber of Commerce. She is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and its Counselors Academy and founded/co-chaired the society's International Section. She has been named Outstanding Public Relations Practitioner of Texas by the Texas Public Relations Association, Volunteer of the Year by the Houston Area Women's Center and has received the Crystal Award for Marketing Excellence from the American Marketing Association. Booker received her bachelor's degree from Baylor University, her master's degree from the University of Florida and her master's of business administration from Pepperdine University.
