Dr. Scott Dietzen Ph.D. serves as Chief Executive Officer of PURE Storage, Inc. Dr. Dietzen is a three-time successful entrepreneur with WebLogic, Zimbra, and Transarc. He served as the President and Chief Technology Officer of Zimbra, Inc. He has extensive leadership experience, having helped build, sell, and transition three major Internet technology companies. Prior to Zimbra, he served as the Chief Technology Officer of BEA Systems, where he was also Principal Architect ... of the Technology strategy for WebLogic product family. He was a top Spokesperson of BEA with customers, business partners, analysts, and the press. He came to BEA in 1998 via the $200+ million acquisition of WebLogic. Dr. Dietzen served as the Senior Vice President, Applications, Communications and Communities at Yahoo!, where he helped to look after Yahoo! Mail, Messenger, Flickr, Answers, Groups, and Zimbra. Prior to WebLogic, Dr. Dietzen served as Principal Technologist of Transarc. In addition to serving on Internet infrastructure since 1991, Dr. Dietzen has managed teams focused on sales, marketing, product management, and standards. He serves as a Director of Zimbra, Inc. and of PURE Storage, Inc. He has been a Director of Cloudera, Inc. since June 2010. He served as a Director of rPath, Inc. since October 2009. Dr. Dietzen earned a Ph.D., an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
