Background

Joel C. Cohen served as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Harron Communications, LP. Mr. Cohen joined Harron Communications in 1992 and served as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer until 1995. In 1997, Mr. Cohen co-founded Avalon Cable TV and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until its sale to Charter in November 1999. Since his return to Harron Communications in late 2002, Mr. Cohen has been instrumental in creating and monitoring ... MetroCast's strategic plan. Mr. Cohen's career spans 25 years working within the telecommunications and entertainment industries. Mr. Cohen began his career in cable TV at TelePrompTer Cable TV (TPT) where he served as both Controller for TPT and its Manhattan operating system. When TPT sold its operations to Westinghouse (Group W Cable), Mr. Cohen remained in the regional Group W Cable financial operations. In 1986, Group W Cable was sold to a Consortium of cable operators (Time Warner, Comcast, TCI, Century and Daniels) and Mr. Cohen became Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer of the Consortium. After liquidation of the Consortium, Mr. Cohen joined United Artists Entertainment as Senior Vice President of its real estate division and eventually became President of its International division. He has been Director at National Cable & Telecommunications Association since April 2006. Mr. Cohen is a CPA with an MS in Accounting and a BA in Business Administration.
