Mr. Michael Hausman is employed as a Director with Alvarez & Marsal, LLC. He specializes in corporate turnarounds, loan workouts and restructurings in a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, communications, manufacturing and retail. With more than 10 years of financial restructuring experience, Mr. Hausman has advised on numerous out-of-court debt restructurings and in Chapter 11 proceedings, assisting clients in bankruptcy filing preparations, arranging ... debtor-in-possession (DIP) and/or exit financing, stabilizing the business operations, negotiating with stakeholders, maximizing estate value, fraudulent conveyance analysis, and in the preparation of reorganization plans. Mr. Hausman's advisory engagements have included a multitude of privately-held and publicly traded companies ranging from $30 million to $850 million in revenue. His experience includes serving as financial advisor to a major automotive supplier; assisting in the re-negotiation of contracts and development of a reorganization plan that led to successful emergence from bankruptcy; developing a costing model used as the basis for the renegotiation of substantial customer price increases that allowed the client to remain a viable entity; and the successful implementation of various profit improvement initiatives at numerous clients. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hausman spent nine years with a Detroit-based turnaround firm, where he served as Director. Prior to that, Mr. Hausman was an Assistant Vice President in the Asset Based Lending Group of First Chicago NBD Corporation. Mr. Hausman earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Western Michigan University and his master's degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from Michigan State University. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and serves on the board as a Director and Treasurer of the Detroit Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI).
