Mr. David W. Wroe is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Swingtide, Inc. Mr. Wroe is currently providing consulting services at Clareworks LLC. As the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of CNA Insurance from 1996 to 2001, Mr. Wroe led a 3,000-person IT organization and was responsible for making technology decisions for 20,000 employees worldwide. From 1983 to 1996, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and chairman of Agency Management Services (AMS). Mr. Wroe grew AMS from a start-up in 1983 to $300 million in sales in 1996 with over 25,000 agency customers, 500 insurance-company customers, and 1,500 employees. He had joined AMS in 1981 when asked to head AMS development after its acquisition by Commercial Union. Mr. Wroe also co-founded the Alliance for Productive Technology. Early in his career, he served for Texas Instruments as a technology architect and lead of operations research, involved in building sophisticated demand-forecasting systems for manufacturing and TI's planning system. As the line manager of production control, Mr. Wroe was involved in the Apollo space program, the B-1 bomber, the introduction of the TI calculator and other high-profile projects. He is a Member of Strategic Advisory Board of Genstar Capital, LLC and advises on financial and business services and software and software services. He serves as a Director of Insurity, Inc. Mr. Wroe is a graduate of Providence College.
