Dr. Peter J. Millett, M.D., M.Sc. is a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Ivy Capital Partners, LLC. Dr. Millett also serves as a Partner at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic Vail, where he directs the shoulder service and specializes in shoulder and knee surgery and the treatment of sports-related orthopedic conditions. Dr. Millett currently serves as a team physician to the United States Ski Team and is a special medical consultant to the Montreal Canadians professional ... hockey team. He also serves as a shoulder and sports medicine consultant to the country of Bermuda. Dr. Millett uses advanced open and arthroscopic surgical techniques to restore damaged joints, ligaments, and bones. Prior to joining the Steadman Hawkins Group, he practiced medicine at Brigham & Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals, holding a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Millett served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at Harvard Medical School. He also served as an associate physician for the Denver Broncos professional football team, the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. Dr. Millett serves as a Member of the Athletic & Scientific Advisory Board of CoolSystems Inc. He also serves as a Member of Clinical Advisory Board at Serica Technologies, Inc. Dr. Millett served as a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board for KFx Medical Corporation since September 12, 2006. He served as a Co-Director of the Harvard Shoulder Service and the Harvard Shoulder Fellowship program and co-ordinated Musculoskeletal Proteomics Research Group at Harvard. Dr. Millett has authored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles, numerous book chapters, and a review book on orthopedics. His academic work has been recognized with awards from several international societies. Dr. Millett undertook his orthopaedic residency training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. While there, he received Lewis Clark Wagner Award for excellence in orthopaedic research as well as the Zimmer Travel Award. Recently, his research was nominated as a Finalist for the Neer Award from American Shoulder and Elbow Society. Dr. Millett received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. He also served as a Research scholar at the University of Cambridge in England, where he was awarded a M.Sc. for his work in skeletal biology. Dr. Millett earned additional subspecialty, fellowship training in sports medicine, knee and shoulder surgery at the internationally renowned Steadman Hawkins Sports Medicine Foundation in Vail, Colorado.
