Background

Mr. Daniel Welch Stanton is a Founding Principal and Member of Executive Committee at Samson Capital Advisors LLC. Previously, he was a General Partner and Managing Director of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Mr. Stanton joined the firm in 1981 and became a Partner in 1994. During his career he managed the firm’s global Private Wealth Management business; started and managed the Global Securities Services business (which focused on Prime Brokerage and Securities Lending); ... and served as Head of Equities Institutional Sales in the United States. As Head of institutional equities sales, Mr. Stanton was responsible for the senior team which coordinated the firm’s largest institutional client relationships. His global responsibilities included his role as chief of the firm’s German businesses, which was managed out of its Frankfurt office. During his career, Mr. Stanton served on the Partnership Committee, European Management Committee and the Pine Street Board, as well as several other firm-wide committees. He currently serves on the Columbia Business School Board of Overseers and on the Board of Trustees at Canisius College. Mr. Stanton received his B.S. in Finance from Canisius College in 1979 where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in 1981.
