Dr. Michael D. Lesh, M.D. founded Evera Medical, Inc. (formerly, Juva Medical, Inc.) in 2004 and serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Lesh serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Appriva Medical, Inc. Dr. Lesh is a world-renowned Physician, Scientist and Entrepreneur. Dr. Lesh founded Mitralife and served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, which is developing a catheter-based treatment for mitral valve disease and CHF. He also founded Appriva, ... which is in US clinical trials, and European sales, of PLAATO, a percutaneous trans-catheter device for preventing stroke. Mitralife and Appriva were acquired by ev3, Inc. Dr. Lesh served as Chief of Cardiac Electrophysiology of UCSF. Dr. Lesh's research spanned a wide range from bench to bedside. He pioneered a number of procedures for catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, and is the author of over 300 scientific papers, book chapters and books. Dr. Lesh holds over 80 patents issued or pending. Since 1997, Dr. Lesh has founded three successful medical device companies based on his inventions. He was a faculty of UCSF. He served as Chairman of Appriva Medical, Inc. He has been a Director at Stentys S.A.S. since October 2008. He serves as a Director of Heartscape Technologies, Inc. Dr. Lesh holds two degrees from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering in 1975, and Bioengineering in 1977; he earned his Medical Doctor degree at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine in 1981. He completed training at UCSF and the University of Pennsylvania.
