Mr. Eric Donald Hovde is the Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Member of Investment Committee at Hovde Capital Advisors LLC. Prior to forming Hovde Financial in 1987, Mr. Hovde was involved in mergers and acquisitions on behalf of a regional investment banking firm that specialized in mutual thrift conversions and mergers and acquisitions. He was directly involved in the negotiation, structuring, and consummation of countless private sector mergers and acquisitions, including numerous acquisitions from either the RTC or FDIC on behalf of Hovde Financial's clients. He began a career in private equity in 1994 targeting community banks and thrift, and has overseen 16 investments in financial services companies. Mr. Hovde serves as the Chairman of Sunwest Bank in Orange County, California. Additionally, he is a significant shareholder and board member of ePlus inc. He has also served as a Director on numerous bank and thrift boards. He served as Director of Bay Bank, FSB. Mr. Hovde has been featured on numerous occasions on financial television and in national print media publications including CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Hovde created and funded the Hovde Foundation. He has actively participated in and funded relief work programs in areas such as Kosovo, Bolivia, Uganda, Lesotho, and Appalachia through a partnership with World Vision. Mr. Hovde financed and oversaw the construction of the Hovde House. He is licensed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a Registered Representative and General Securities Principal. Mr. Hovde earned his degrees in Economics and International Relations at the University of Wisconsin.
