He served as Cisco's Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for its corporate strategy, business development, strategic alliances, advanced Internet projects, legal services, and government affairs. Prior to Cisco, he spent three years at Hewlett-Packard Company’s Optoelectronics Division. He has been a Director of Pure Storage, Inc. since August 2012. Mr. Volpi serves as Director of Elasticsearch NL and FON Technology, S.L. He also serves on the board of Cloud.com, Inc., and Lookout, Inc.
